Generally, the truth is a good place to begin. In the last week or so Dr. Tindall and I have encountered what seems like a lot of "haters" and our diagnosis was that there is a GROSS MISUNDERSTANDING of what we do and more importantly how we are different than other "weight loss programs". Quite simply, our page, site , program was designed as a Gift to you from Dr. Dean Tindall. Our goal is to help you have all the resources you need to lead a healthy life for the rest of your life. He has taken all the education and experience he has gained over 30+ years of practice in chiropractic , nutrition, and naturopathy and put these tools together for your benefit. This is a program that provides you with all the resources and information that you need to achieve your goals and be healthy. There are recipes, exercises, stretches, grocery lists, educational materials, and many different guides and plans for you to learn and make your own choices for your own health. Weight loss is a by-product of this program. When you learn the right things we believe you will make better choices and over time this leads to not just weight loss, but to improved vitality, attitude, and ultimately, to better health. We believe you should choose to be the best you can be so you can live your best life and have your very best health for the rest of your life. He and I have combined 60+ years of clinical practice plus our combined 20+ years in the post-graduate study of nutrition, naturopathy, exercise physiology, physical rehabilitation, sports medicine, orthopedics, acupuncture, energy medicine, and countless others and put them in one place for you to have a simply guide for you and your families health. It is so simple it may be unbelievable and frightening to some OR perhaps you, too, are a victim of some weight loss scam promising quick results , OR you have been purchasing gummies, pills, or prepackaged meals that do nothing but drain your wallets. Please remember, FAT LOSS IS NOT WEIGHT LOSS AND VICE VERSA. Get off the scale , eat better, feel better, move more ... and LOVE IT! - ARE ALL CARBS BAD?
NO!!! With the "keto" craze draining people's wallets, I believe it may have robbed their common sense as well. Without proper carbs you do not get the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Simply put, carbs come in many shapes and sizes and a basic understanding is necessary for you to make the right choices for your health. THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF CARBS: Sugar...simple most basic carbohydrate Starches...complex carbohydrates because they are simple ones strung together Fiber...also a complex carbohydrate Basically, eat any carbohydrate in it's NATURAL form. No refinement or processing, bleaching, food additives, or anything else that alters their natural state. These are called CLEAN, WHOLE, OR HEALTHY CARBS and are FRUITS and VEGETABLES. They provide wonderful nutrients the body needs to carry out its daily functions and also provide the fiber you need to keep the digestive system healthy. When it comes to the confusion surrounding carbs, remember nature knows best.. fruits and vegetables in every color of the rainbow and , of course add white and black. Fill your plate as full and as high as you want with these delicious treats. And please remember, IF YOU CANNOT PRONOUNCE IT OR DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS DON'T PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH. And that goes for everyone!
- TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT KETO?
I certainly am. I also am tired of seeing fat people in bathing suits or underwear become thinner with some magic pill, lotion, ear ormament, or anything else for that matter. Especially when statistics show that less than 2% of people will keep the weight off at the one year mark from the loss. Also, they may lose temporary weight, but is not all fat and AT WHAT COST TO THEIR HEALTH? WAKE UP AND SMELL THE "KETO" HEART ATTACK! It seems people have substituted sweets and white flour with cheese, butter, and eggs yet without a healthy liver and gut your might as well call " Roto Rooter" now to reserve your appointment for declogging your arteries. Or you might enjoy the stoke that ensues, whatever works for you. Without a proper life style and healthy delicious eating your body will ALWAYS be ill or fat or disease ridden and you will ALWAYS be struggling. I have been a doctor for 30+ years and just cannot understand why people are so stupid they jump on every latest fad to loose weight. If any of them worked we would not be fatter than ever and still buying some junk from a celebrity-backed garbage that doesn't work. Please understand that WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT NECESSARILY FAT LOSS and the GOAL SHOULD BE TO BE HEALTHY...nothing else. I am an educator and am here to do just that. If you don't like it...well that is just tough. REALITY is a tough most of the time. This program works, all of the time and is for you and your family for life. - Time to Set New Goals for Next Year
For most of us, December is a time to reflect on the ups and downs of the past year, and make goals for the year to come! And there have been some major changes this past year. Whether you want to lose weight, go to the gym, eat more vegetables, or drink less alcohol, New Year’s resolutions can be a great way to kick start healthy habits. Unfortunately, close to 90% of all resolutions made January 1st fail, leaving well-intentioned goal-setters right where they started. With a few simple tips, you can make this year’s resolution last! Evaluate, all aspects of your life Reflect on your life and make a list of the things you find most important. From relationships, to work, health, and finance, ask yourself if you’re happy with your current situation or what you would want to change about it. This will help you establish what is most important to focus on when setting your goals. Pick 1 not 5 Be specific, pick one resolution that you can devote all your attention to. Avoid spreading yourself too thin by focusing on what you find most important. Losing weight, going to the gym, and eating clean are great goals, but trying to do it all at once can be overwhelming. Start out by focusing on one goal at a time, then move on the next. Set SMART goals If you want your reach your goals, make sure they are SMART; Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time based. If you want to lose weight in this coming year, decide how much, and set measurable dates on how much you want to lose by when. Being realistic is the key! If you want to lose 20lbs in a week or two or be completely healthy to do so in one month, it might not be realistic. Aim for a more reasonable goal of 1-2lbs/week of weight loss. Set small time goals for yourself to make the task less overwhelming and more reachable. Try to remember it probably took your years of bad lifestyle choices to be at point you are at now, so it will take time and consistent work to regain your health. Don’t beat yourself up You don’t have to be perfect! If you miss a day at the gym, or have a burger for lunch instead of a salad, it’s okay! Mistakes are normal and provide opportunities to learn and grow. Use your slip-ups as motivation to get right back on track, and maybe even kick things up a notch! Don’t uses these small mishaps be an excuse to go back to that unhealthy lifestyle. One of the first steps in achieving your goals is to make a plan. Make a goal work sheet! GOAL SETTING WORKSHEET You have goals, but how exactly can you reach them? Goals, and especially large ones, are often attained through meeting a series of smaller goals. Breaking down each goal step by step will allow you to lay out a clear and concise path to follow. With patience, consistency, and focus, you will be capable of anything! My Goal is: _______________________________________________________________ Start date____________ Expected Completion Date______________ List Two things that will help you reach your goal? These are Steps I will do to reach my goal: (list 4-5) activities. Example: eat healthy foods, meal plan, plan exercises, develop healthy shopping list, remove junk food from house, etc. List 1 or 2 reasons why you are going to reach your goal and why it is important to reach your goal.
